著名攝影師兼導演杜可風以寫實、唯美的拍攝風格，為香港三代人──兒童、 青年人及老年人共同譜寫的故事。三部曲以〈開門見山〉、〈愚公移山〉及〈後悔莫及〉三篇章展現三代人心聲。 他們每個叩問生存的意義，但在苦苦追尋生命真諦的道路上他們並不孤單，因為這些心聲正反映普世共同面對的處境。

杜可風與製作團隊花近一年時間，訪問逾百位不同年齡和背景的香港人，挑選部份故事作創作藍本，構成這齣半虛半實的劇情片。它亦是香港首部由網上群眾集資（crowd-funding）製作，正式搬上大銀幕的電影。

多倫多國際電影節「當代世界影片」(Contemporary World Cinema)單元及釜山國際電影節「廣角鏡紀錄片」單元入圍作品。

“Hong Kong Trilogy: Preschooled Preoccupied Preposterous” is a story of Hong Kong told by three generations: “Preschooled” children, “Preoccupied” young people, and “Preposterous” senior citizens. The characters of each generation wonder how to live, here and now. At the end of their journey, they find no answers. Yet what they do find is that they are not alone in asking the universal questions that we all share.

Christopher Doyle and the Hong Kong Trilogy Team spent a year interviewing hundreds of people of all ages and backgrounds. Their edited recordings give the film its blueprint for the quasi-fictional narrative that the real person plays as the audience hears (in voice-over) how these real Hong Kong people see the world. This is the first crowd-funded Hong Kong film to be released in theaters.
